Home Again

When Fido is picked up, he will be very excited to see you. It is recommended that you do not feed him (although he may act hungry once he gets back on his familiar turf) for at least 3 hours and then, be very careful not to overfeed him.

Also, excitement will cause Fido to pant a lot, lose body water & be thirsty. Give him a few ice cubes to tide him over until feeding time. Again, in his excited state, excessive food & water consumption can create problems.

Dogs do not have a sense of time. He will be just as happy to see you if you left him for 5 minutes or 5 days. His enthusiasm to be with you is not an indication that he was overly worried while you were gone but his way of telling you what a good time he had!

Remember, your kennel owner is in this business because she loves dogs!
